Summer Training

Hello Students! The sun has started to shine brighter and the temperatures continue to rise which has many people tempted to take a break from their regular routines.

Because summertime is associated to the season for fun, it has many of us stepping out of our regular routines to attend social events, become a taxi for the kids, and going on holiday to enjoy the nice weather. Therefore, it is common for many individuals to take a step back or two in their kung fu & tai chi fitness journey. While enjoying your everyday life is still extremely important, finding a good balance between maintaining your routine and still enjoying yourself is the key to progression all year round!

Let's keep in mind some reasons why maintaining regular routines as much as possible throughout the summer is important:

  1. Consistency is Key: Kung Fu & Tai Chi is a year-round commitment. Regular attendance helps maintain the progress you’ve made and prevents the common pitfall of starting over after a long break. By staying active during the summer, you ensure that you don’t lose the gains you’ve worked hard to achieve.

  2. Health Benefits: Physical activity boosts your immune system, improves cardiovascular health, and enhances mental wellbeing. These benefits are important no matter the season. It also keeps your muscles and joints strong and flexible, reducing the risk of injuries that can occur from sudden increases in activity after a period of inactivity. This is something we all need to consider as we’re getting older.

  3. Energy and Mood: Healthy, stimulating workouts with your kung fu & tai chi peer group releases endorphins, which improve your mood and energy levels. This is especially beneficial during the summer when you might have more social pressure and interactions. In the long-term, consistent attendance in such a positive and encouraging environment is one of the best ways to combat stress and anxiety. Mental wellbeing is crucial to living your best life.

Remember, Kung Fu & Tai Chi is not a seasonal activity, it's a lifestyle.
