School Lantern Festival
The Chinese Lantern Festival marks the end of Chinese New Year and has been celebrated for about 2,000 years. It marks the first full moon of the new lunar year welcoming Spring. This year the Lantern Festival falls on Tuesday, March 3rd. The lanterns symbolize people letting go of the past year and welcoming the new year with good fortune. Student teacher relationship
Understanding how to be a student and your relationship with your teachers is very different in the outside world than that in your martial arts school (Kung Fu/Tai Chi school). Here is a clip of a lecture Master Brown gave back in the early 2000's. Although the lecture is over 25 years old, it still is very relevant in our Kung Fu/Tai Chi school today.
