Suggested ideas that may help with the common cold:

  • Avoid spicy and heavy foods like cheese and high portions of meat

  • Eat more liquid foods like thin oatmeal, chicken or vegetable soup

  • Eat ginger scallion soup: 25g scallion heads (white and pale green parts), 25g fresh ginger, cook in two cups water for 5 minutes, and eat it before bedtime

  • Eat more fruits and vegetables

  • If there is also a headache, boil 10g peppermint and 10g crushed green onion heads with 1 cup water

  • If accompanied by a fever, eat foods with cold energy: mint tea, dandelion tea

  • If the cold is accompanied by a cough, cook orange peel in water and drink the brew
